Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day is one of the newest mentors lined up for the coming NBC The Voice season. In an interview with ExtraTV he shared some insider views with Christina Aguilera. The Voice 2012 is destined to be a rather interesting show.
Christina, as you may already know is one of the shows singing coaches. She shared her views on Mariah Carey joining the upcoming twelfth season of American Idol, Sean Comer reported.
“I just found out about it last night, the news is fresh,” Aguilera said. “I love that all these artists are coming together from all the experience that we’ve had, and being able to take that and feed this new wave of talent coming up.”
Likewise, she had kind praise for her “Mickey Mouse Club” contemporary Britney Spears taking up a similar gig with that other Fox competition, Simon Cowell’s “The X Factor.” Through the years, Aguilera comes across as still respectful and acknowledging that if anybody could teach contestants everything about captivating an audience that runs beyond octaves and scales, it’s Spears.
“Britney’s so talented. I mean, she’s a pro. She’s been at it for a number of years now,” Aguilera added.
It’s refreshing to hear such a singing star acknowledge the talents and abilities of others in her industry guiding ‘I want to become a famous singer‘ hopefuls.
Christina Aguilera – The Voice 2012
However even more so, she is enthused at the addition of Billie Joe Armstrong joining The Voice.
“This one was very intriguing because he comes from a completely different genre of music than I do,” she said. “He’s had tremendous obvious stage experience and touring and he would have some amazing advice and input.”
To listen to how she speaks she genuinely wants the contestants to become the best they can, with the widest range of high quality input they can get.
Armstrong himself said that when approached for the show, he was given his choice of coaches with whom to align himself. He joins a list of various teams’ mentors that already includes Mary J. Blige and Michael Bublé that will guide contestants alongside coaches Aguilera, Blake Shelton, Cee Lo Green and Adam Levine.
