The song choice was of Flo Rida’s “Good Feeling”. Does this look and song actually suit Carly Rose? L.A. Reid and Demi Lovato found some of the performance to be questionable for one reason or another.

What did the X Factor judges say
Carly Rose Sonenclar sings Flo Rida’s Good Feeling on X Factor USA live show
“…you have a really good voice… If I’m honest it didn’t feel like you were having fun… You’re amazing though,” said LA Reid.
What do you think? In the video replay does Carly look like she’s having fun? Something was not right, but I can’t put my finger on it.
“…you obviously have one of the best voices in this competition… seeing you up there it’s not really believable… and I don’t see you having a lot of fun. I’m worried it’s not your time right now,” said Demi Lovato.
Demi has a point but I disagree with the point about not being Carly’s time right now. She has an amazing gift, she just needs additional coaching and mentoring – and I don’t think dressing up in a Britney style school girl look helps. It seems inappropriate for some reason.
“I actually don’t agree with that. My issue was… is that you felt uncomfortable with the song… like you weren’t connecting with the song. Based on how brilliant you are you could of done a much better song. But it would be criminal if you left the competition tomorrow,” said Simon Cowell.
Carly did seem somewhat uncomfortable – and even with an air of this song is beneath her. It’s difficult to remember that she is only 13. And an incredible 13 year old at that.
“I thought your vocals were amazing, and you did a great job,” said Britney.
It surprisingly is quite a mixed bag of comments for such a talented young lady. And I guess it highlights that even with great vocal talent the ability to perform and deliver a song needs considered practice and development, especially the ability to drop any ideas and judgements of the song you are singing – so that you can give it your all inside and out.
Tanya is noted in the singing world for being a charming and gifted stage creature with a bright, lyrical voice and superb acting ability. She was born in Sutton Coldfield, UK, and began her vocal studies back in 1992. Her love of singing has found her rubbing shoulders with some big names as well as taking part in community projects. She's known for insisting that "there is a song within the heart of everyone if only they are guided in learning how to share it."
