Performing infront of 1,000’s of people can be nerve racking, but the X Factor UK audition with Christopher Maloney was one where he was visibly shaking. It makes you uncomfortable to watch him at first.
It’s interesting to note that when your nervousness shows it makes your audience uncomfortable. It makes you feel a train wreck is in the making. You feel the performers pain and lack of confidence, which is never a comfortable feeling.

His nerves are understandable with the sound of people’s negative ideas bouncing around his head. Christopher said that it took him 5 years to build up the courage to apply to X Factor and go through with the audition, and thank God he did.
What a voice, what a talent.
He said:
“I think that I just stopped believing in myself. As you get older you start to lose confidence, you start to lose belief in yourself.”
“This is the biggest thing I’ve ever done in my life and the amount of pressure that your under was unreal. People would say, ‘you’re going to embarrass yourself, you’re going to embarrass your friends and family if you go and do it’.”
What do each of us allow to hold us back? How long do we hold ourselves back from sharing our god given talent, just because of something that someone said to us once.
